Steve has been employed by Erith since 1984. He has been a prime mover in creating the Erith Group as we know it today. Taking over as chairman in 1990, Steve has been involved with every division of the Group, nurturing its culture and broadening the operational capabilities to suit clients’ needs and requirements.

As Group Chief Executive Officer, Steven oversees the strategic planning, operational management and leadership of the Group. With 21 years of experience in the construction and demolition industry, Steven has acquired extensive expertise across various sectors, including consultancy and contracting.

Prior to his current role, he served as the Board Director responsible for the London portfolio for over 13 years. During that time, he generated an enviable reputation in relation to large scale complex demolition, enabling, superstructure, and basement construction schemes ranging in value up to £120m.

Tony Darsey has been employed at Erith for more than 40 years working across a variety of disciplines. He currently serves as the Managing Director of the Group’s asbestos removal department. Tony’s responsibility within this role includes personnel management, quality and financial performance.

Tony has twice been Chairman of the Asbestos Removal Contractors Association (ARCA) and currently sits on their training committee, enabling us to stay at the forefront of the industry.

Jamie has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry. Within a commercial discipline, Jamie has been employed in a range of roles – from surveying to commercial management. Jamie’s experience within the field of commercial management involves leading teams and business units across a variety of construction projects including new build, cut and carve, and fit out within various sectors inclusive of education, hospitality, leisure, commercial, office and retail.

As Group Commercial Director, Jamie’s responsibilities include the overall management of all commercial matters across the Group’s portfolio. This role incorporates group commercial strategies, commercial reporting and commercial support to the commercial and delivery teams across the Group.

David has over 14 years’ experience with Erith and in his role as board director he is responsible for the strategic growth and delivery of the Group’s prestigious London project portfolio including demolition, complex cut and carve, basement and frame construction schemes across a wide range of sectors.

David is heavily involved in the planning, operational and commercial aspects of some of London’s largest high-profile developments, liaising closely with clients, designers, and project teams alike through to project completion. He has a proven track record, with a strong focus on building collaborative client relationships that prioritise safe and timely delivery of projects.

Stuart has been with Erith since 2002, gaining experience across all areas of the Group’s activities. He previously served as SHEQ lead before transferring his skill set to become Operations Director within the London demolition team. Over ten years, Stuart led several significant demolition, asbestos and basement construction projects, managing client engagement, programme delivery, valuations and final accounts.

During this time, he also acted as Honorary Treasurer of The Institute of Demolition Engineers and played a lead role in developing the Demolition Trailblazer Apprenticeship Scheme, for which he was elected as an Honorary Fellow. Stuart is now Director of Erith’s Haulage division with overall responsibility for its operations to serve both the Group’s and external clients’ needs.

Steve is Director of our Remediation division, responsible for sustainable operational delivery, quality and financial performance. He has had considerable experience within all our divisions whilst being responsible for the delivery of numerous high-profile projects.

Matt has been a dedicated member of the Erith team for over 15 years, specialising in remediation, decommissioning, earthworks, and enabling sectors. In his current role, he oversees projects from tender to completion, managing both the technical and commercial aspects to ensure successful outcomes at every stage.

Starting his career as a labourer, Matt worked his way up through multiple roles, gaining a wealth of hands-on experience along the way. His journey has provided him with a deep understanding of project lifecycles, allowing him to lead with both practical knowledge and strategic insight. Matt is committed to delivering excellence on every project, drawing on his extensive experience and dedication to the industry.

Shaun joined us in 2010 as a Plant Manager and has successfully progressed through frontline sales and operations management roles. He was appointed as a Director in 2019. With 27 years of experience in the construction industry, Shaun specialises in plant and attachments, specialised transport (including heavy haulage and HIAB) and training. He has an excellent understanding of our business sectors and the industry.

In his current position, Shaun leads a team of around 100 employees, overseeing the strategy and operation of Erith Plant Services, which has assets valued at over £8.5m. He also heads the management and delivery team of Erith Training Limited.

Tony is a hugely experienced and highly regarded construction professional having held senior positions within the construction industry for some 35 years delivering multiple basement and frame schemes throughout his tenure.

Tony has delivered some of London’s most iconic structures such as Paddington Cube, 20 Fenchurch Street, Royal Wharf, the London Royal Hospital and Embassy Gardens and as such is a known expert in the successful delivery of large-scale civils packages in inner city London.

Andy is an experienced demolition engineer with a successful history in urban, regional, nuclear, and heavy industrial demolition. He has a proven, diverse project portfolio and an excellent track record in safely delivering the Group’s heavy industrial projects. Andy focuses on building enduring, value-based relationships with customers and partners, understanding their challenges and how each can be solved collaboratively.

Terry brings over 20 years of experience in the demolition and construction industry, with 14 of those years dedicated to working with Erith in the London sector. Starting as Project Manager, Terry has advanced to the role of Operations Director. His expertise spans large-scale, urban demolition, intricate cut and carve refurbishments, and comprehensive experience in piling, basement box construction and complex shell and core solutions.

Terry excels in providing clients with full project delivery services, from initial planning stages through to project completion and had led some of London’s most challenging projects in recent years, developing a deep understanding of working with local authorities and securing key stakeholder relationships to ensure successful outcomes with minimal disruption.

Grant has been with Erith for the past 17 years, starting as Project Manager and progressing to Contracts Manager before becoming an Operations Director. His responsibilities include managing the regional demolition team and overseeing demolition contracts from the tender stage through to practical completion.

Grant is a full member of the Institute of Demolition Engineers (IDE).

Andrew brings more than 20 years of experience to his role as Operations Manager within our Earthworks and Infrastructure team. Specialising in large scale infrastructure and bulk earthworks contracts, he is responsible for the operational delivery of our projects. Andrew oversees resource allocation and ensures safe and seamless performance that exceeds stakeholder expectations.

Simon has over 20 years of industry experience, specialising in the design of bespoke concept solutions for temporary works on various schemes worldwide. Simon has extensive experience of design management, construction supervision and project leadership having held roles from Engineer and Technical Manager to his current position as Director.

Simon is currently responsible for coordinating, managing, and leading design teams at Swanton. He plays a pivotal role in ensuring early engagement and delivery services to support external clients and contractor designs.

Phil has over 25 years of industry experience, specialising in asbestos removal and demolition across complex high-risk environments. With a background spanning nuclear, industrial, eductation, healthcare and retail sectors, Phil brings extensive operational knowledge and a strong focus on health and safety, compliance and delivery certainty.

In his role as Operations Director, Phil is responsible for overseeing regional operations, driving performance and ensuring consistent standards across live and challenging sites. He plays a key role in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and the successful delivery of large-scale projects, supporting teams to operate safely, efficiently and in line with client and regulatory expectations.

Tracy has been with the Group for nearly 20 years and leads the Business Development team which is responsible for the timely return of tenders and pre-qualifications as well as management of the Group’s marketing efforts.

Tracy is also pivotal in monitoring long range opportunities and developing client relationships. Tracy’s background includes extensive experience in the quarrying, asphalt, landfill and recycling industries.

Adam brings over 20 years of experience in the civil engineering, utilities, and infrastructure sectors. Throughout his career he has held senior positions with several large-scale UK construction companies. Currently he serves as Managing Director of Erith Connect.

Adam has substantial expertise in operational and commercial management across multiple construction sectors and is highly experienced in utilities, infrastructure, civil engineering and water process.

Matt joined the Group in 2010 and his role as ICT Director means that he is responsible for leading a diversely qualified and customer-focused team. With more than 30 years of experience with designing and deploying complex information and communication management systems, he is challenged to define and deliver the Group’s technological, knowledge management and information security aspirations.

Matt takes the responsibility of continual improvement personally, constantly looking to improve the use of technology within the Group with the ultimate aim of exceeding stakeholder expectations.

As SHEQ Director, Joe leads our dedicated health, safety, environmental, and quality management team. He holds overall responsibility for the implementation, compliance, and continuous improvement of SHEQ practices across the Group. With over 24 years of experience, Joe brings a diverse skill set from various sectors and a deep understanding of safety, health, and environmental regulations. His passion for fostering a culture of safety and sustainability drives his commitment to maintaining the highest standards within our organisation.

David has over 30 years’ experience in regulatory compliance and people services, risk management, and corporate governance. David provides strategic guidance to senior management, chairs the risk and compliance committee and is a member of the International Compliance Association, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals.
